Libero Net have partnered with Elance and have taken over Manchester’s monthly Business Bootstrap Club to help teach business-focused minds how to start and run a business smarter in the Cloud.
Wednesday saw the first Business Bootstrap Club of 2014 and to our apprehensive web scientists delight it was a huge success! Dan got the ball rolling by introducing the endless possibilities of Elance and what it offers to both business bootstraps and techies alike. After a lengthy Q&A attendees introduced themselves, their business ideas (without revealing too much) while informally networking over Papa Johns and a few beers.
So, we thought we would introduce a few people who attended and their business ventures.
Manchester Watch Out for These Entrepreneurs!
Firstly we have Ashley Wright, a freelance developer based in Warrington whom is taking time out from his work to develop an App. Although he wouldn’t reveal much else, the pride in his creation spoke for itself and we can’t wait until the ‘big reveal’ in a couple of months time!
Ged Hogan an engineer by day and entrepreneur by night. His current business venture is Party Jet, a ‘central hub for all your travelling party needs’, be it weddings, stag and hen or golf trip. It doesn’t stop there, Ged has spent the last two years researching into algorithms and is now in the process of venturing into a business worthy of the Dragons Den approval. We are looking forward to seeing this business unfold.
Next we have Ian Stacey a self-proclaimed ‘tech nerd’ who has just recently launched the first test of his mobile app and website for ButtyRunner; a business venture which started as a joke between work colleagues when organising the daily trip to get bacon sandwiches. We love this concept, someone at Libero Net (not mentioning any names) always manages to get our dinner order mixed up, so we are sure to be keen users of this app! Quickly moving on..
Neil Patel has recently founded Payyola, a global online employee recognition platform which allows companies, organisations and individuals reward freelance professionals around the world with gift vouchers, days out and gifts. As Elance users we found this idea to be extremely useful, people can reward work they have outsourced on Elance for doing an exceptional job.
Last but not least, we have Aqsa M a recent graduate who is taking a giant leap of faith into the business world with app PaperBoy; an app which boasts quirky characters and a beautiful design to discover news from around the world relating to user searches and suggested topics. With this app we can sure see people using on public transport on their way to work! Just like the rest, one to watch out for!
Until Next Time..
Other ideas were shared but we respect people’s privacy but when they develop and are ready for sharing, we will be sure to keep you in the loop!
If you couldn’t attend this event, don’t panic as Libero Net and Elance hope to continue this networking event each month! Keep an eye out for the next event on Business Bootstrap Club Eventbrite.
