What is Conversion Rate Optimisation?

Conversion optimisation is the process of optimising a marketing channel to improve the overall conversions, with the rate calculated as total conversions divided by total visitors.

The Process

Initially, we begin by discussing your goals. What is the purpose of your website or web application, and what are you trying to achieve? E-commerce sites are often looking to improve sales, whereas business websites may be aiming for leads or engagement, to improve brand presence. We’ll assess your macro conversions (the aim or aims most important to you) as well as your micro conversions (smaller signs of intention to buy or engagement, for example a newsletter signup).

We’ll also ensure your tracking & Analytics are set up to thoroughly track these aims, their current performance, and future performance with Event tracking, Goal tracking or another appropriate method through Google Analytics.

We’ll then tailor the conversion optimisation process to your specific needs. For example, for an E-Commerce site we may look to test checkout processes, buttons, call to actions or landing pages, based on performance indicators. Then, we might A/B testing, showing different usergroups a different checkout process, to find the best way for your customers.
